1. About Thrive Line Connections
Thrive Line Connections ("Thrive Line", "we“, "us") operates an online social impact platform accessible at thrivelineconnections.com, including a Mentees Portal where users can register, create profiles, and connect with mentors. These Terms govern your use of the Platform and any related services.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on the Platform.
- By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit consent.
3. Account Registration and the Mentees Portal
To access the Mentees Portal, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date registration information
- Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Not attempt to access accounts belonging to other users
- Use the Portal solely for its intended social impact purposes
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are found to contain false information.
4. User Data and Privacy
By creating an account, you acknowledge that we collect and store personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Your data is processed in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. You consent to the storage and processing of your data for the purposes of providing social impact services. You may withdraw consent and request deletion of your data at any time.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- Engage in any unlawful activity under Kenyan law or applicable international law
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against any user, mentor, or member of staff
- Share false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Upload or transmit malware, spam, or any harmful code
- Impersonate any person or organisation
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform without authorisation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform's systems or databases
- Violate any third-party intellectual property rights
Breach of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement authorities.
6. Social impact Programme Terms
Thrive Line Connections facilitates connections between mentees and mentors but does not guarantee specific outcomes from participation. You acknowledge that:
- Mentors are independent individuals or professionals and are not employees of Thrive Line
- Thrive Line is not liable for the advice, guidance, or actions of mentors
- Participation in social impact sessions is voluntary and at your own discretion
- You will treat mentors, peers, and Thrive Line staff with respect at all times
- Any agreements made privately between mentees and mentors are outside the scope of Thrive Line's responsibility
7. Payments and Refunds
Where fees apply for programmes or events:
- All prices are listed in Kenyan Shillings (KES) unless otherwise stated
- Payment is processed via secure third-party payment providers; we do not store card details
- Refunds may be requested in accordance with our Refund Policy, available on the Platform
- In the event of programme cancellation by Thrive Line, a full refund will be issued
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, software, and course materials — is owned by or licensed to Thrive Line Connections and is protected under Kenyan intellectual property law and applicable international treaties. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., profile information, personal statements). By submitting content, you grant Thrive Line a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for the purposes of operating the Platform.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform and its services are provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law:
- We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform
- We are not responsible for the actions, advice, or conduct of mentors or other users
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the preceding 12 months
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to:
- Good-faith negotiation between the parties in the first instance
- Mediation, if negotiation fails, under the Kenyan Arbitration Act, 1995 (as amended)
- Jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya if mediation is unsuccessful
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the Platform or other users. You may also close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
